Wax Museum Day is on Thursday, April 17th in room 26 during the day, and in the MPR for our evening event at 5:00-5:30pm. Students will present during the day IN COSTUME by performing for their classmates, 2nd grade classes, and Sundance staff members. They will need to come to school in costume and bring a change of clothes to change into before we go to morning recess.  This is  a fun and exciting day for the kids!

This project board should include:
  • -Title (person's name)
  • -Speech/ Summary Paragraph of the person's life
  • -3 or more pictures of the person
  • -timeline with at least 5 or more important dates
  • -5 interesting facts that are not included in the summary speech
  • The project board should be neat, colorful, and free of errors

PRINTABLE PAGES FOR WAX MUSEUM

Click on the PDF file above to: PRINT OUT Templates for : Timeline, Five Fabulous Facts, paragraph template, and a grading rubric.

  • You CAN use the timeline template and Five Fabulous Facts template to glue to the presentation board.
  • PLEASE DO NOT use the paragraph template to glue to the board! Students should rewrite or type the detailed paragraph.

TIMELINE

--Students creating a trifold board presentation can create their own timeline with at least 5 or more important dates OR use a blank template (provided by Mrs. Ashton upon request).

--Students creating a slideshow have 3 timeline choices that are already built into the blank template assigned in Google Classroom. They should pick the timeline they want to use and then delete the other two timeline slides. They only need to complete one timeline.

ORAL PRESENTATION

All students will give a short speech.  Their speech should come from the paragraph they put on the board, but they should NOT read from the board.  Students should "come alive" as if they were that historical person from the past or present. It is highly recommended that students make index cards to help them get through their speech.  Students should make an effort to look up most of the time to speak to their audience with expression and make eye contact. If they can remember the speech that would be great, but the cards are great support!
